Prize money for the Cosequin® Lexington CCI4*-S is being increased to $50,000 for this year’s Defender Kentucky Horse Trials, to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park from April 25th – 28th.
The Cosequin Lexington 4* will now offer double last year’s prize money, with money distributed to the top-ten finishers and the winner taking home US$16,400. Last year the CCI4* competition was won by Karl Slezak riding Hot Bobo.
Introduced in 2021, the Cosequin Lexington 4* is part of the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by MARS Equestrian, which also hosts one of only seven annual CCI5* three-day events in the world. The competitors in the CCI5* share a prize pool of $400,000.
The event also features the Kentucky CSI4* Invitational Grand Prix presented by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute.
