Jennie Brannigan and Cambalda
Team USA rider Jennie Brannigan and her 15 year old Irish Sport Horse gelding Cambalda once again took the individual honours in the CICO3* at Great Meadows International and helped her team to win the second FEI Nations Cup held in the USA
The US team of Phillip Dutton riding I’m Sew Ready, Jennie riding Cambalda, Lynn Symansky riding Donner, and Boyd Martin riding Steady Eddie also claimed the top three individual position with Lynn Symansky and her 14 year old thoroughbred gelding finishing second (50.1) and Phillip Dutton in third (51.6) while the last minute call up to the team of Boyd Martin and Steady Eddie finished in 10th

Phillip led the dressage phase with a personal best score of 42 but four faults in the steamy Saturday evening show jumping session dropped them down to second place on 46.0 while Team Canada’s Jessica Phoenix and Pavarotti, second after the dressage, moved up with a clear round. But it was Jennie Brannigan riding Cambalda, fourth after the dressage and show jumping, who came home on cross country day with just 1.6 time penalties to take the win by a whisker with a score of 49.8 over Lyn Symansky’s 50.1
Nicky Roncoroni and Watts Burn
Britain’s Nicky Roncoroni riding Watts Burn was the best of the Brits in fourth place after a very consistent performance, adding just 4.4 time penalties to her dressage score to finish on 53.
Nicky was part of the British silver medal winning Nations Cup team at the recent Tattersalls International Horse Trials in Ireland but sadly in this occasion her team mates didn’t fare so well, with Team GB completing with only two competitors.
Emily Llewellyn and Emirati Night Sky jumped clear in the show jumping and added just 8.8 time penalties to finish ninth on 58.1 but Matt Heath on One Of A Kind was eliminated on cross country and USA Based British team member Justine Dutton and Jak My Style had a fall at fence 18A.

Justine was transported to hospital where she is recovering from ‘multiple broken ribs, a collapsed lung, a broken shoulder and a broken collar bone as well as a beautiful black eye’ (Justine’s Facebook page) but happily Jak My Style was uninjured
Team Canada took silver on a combined score of 168.6 to the USA’s 151.5 with the show jumping leaders Jessica Phoenix and Pavarotti finishing sixth while her teammates Selena O’Hanlon on Foxwood High and Waylon Roberts on Kelecyn Cognac scored two of just three clear cross country rounds (Boyd Martin and Steady Eddie produced the third). Canada’s fourth team rider Lisa Marie Fergusson on Honor Me finished in 16th place individually
