Three New Zealand, three British and one Irish combination are among the entries received so far for the Mars Maryland CCI5* at Fair Hill to be held from 19th – 22nd October.
The newest CCI5* US event on the FEI Calendar, Maryland is attracting some of the best in the business including the 2023 Defender Burghley winner Oliver Townend, this time on his rising star and recent CCI4*-S 8/9 Year Old Champion from Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials, Cooley Rosalent.
Piggy March will also be making the journey from England with Brookfield Cavalier Cruise and William Fox-Pitt will ride Grafennacht
The 2022 Defending Champion Tim Price will be back, this time with Falco and Tim will be joined by fellow New Zealanders, Caroline Powell riding Greenacres Special Cavalier (find out more about this special partnership here) and Monica Spencer, who has made the trip over to the USA for a three-month stint with her family, will ride her World Championship team bronze medallist, Artist
Ireland’s Austin O'Connor and Colorado Blue, who finished third at Badminton CCI5* earlier this year, is also listed as one of the visitors while American and Canadian riders make up the rest of the list, including Phillip Dutton with Azure and Boyd Martin with two entries in Contessa and Luke 140
No Australians are entered for the CCI5* but US based Ryan Wood will be riding Check Point and Cooley Continental in the CCI3*, as will Ema Klugman riding Slieve Callan Alpha.
