Three team members and a travelling reserve have been named as the Japanese Eventing team to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in Versailles.

The experienced squad includes three horses previously ridden by British and Australian riders - Yoshi Oiwa’s MGH Grafton Street was a 5* winner with Britain’s Pippa Funnell, Ryuzo Kitijima’s reserve horse, Be My Daisy, was bought from Tinney Eventing late last year and Jefferson JRA was originally campaigned by Australia’s Chris Burton.

Ryuzo’s Be My Daisy shot into team selection contention at Bramham International this year when she led the CCI4*-S after the first day of dressage and finished in ninth place overall.

All riders have previous Olympic experience with Kazuma Tomoto and Vinci De La Vigne JRA finishing just off the podium at Tokyo 2020 in fourth place and eighth at the 2022 World Championships in Pratoni, Italy.
