An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at Equestriad – find out more here
More than 500 horse and rider combinations will descend on Bicentennial Park in Camden, NSW, Australia this weekend for the Equestrian CCI/CCN competition on 26th and 27th August 2023.
The venue, that was under water and suffered the aftermath of the massive floods in this area in 2022, had its first competition back in April when somel of its facilities were still not accessible. But not much deters the Equestriad committee, headed by Shane Rose and his wife Niki, and it is back to business as usual.
This week’s event combines international classes (CCI2*-S, CCI3*-S and CCI4-S) with national classes from EvA60 to CCN1*.
Dressage takes place on Saturday, along with show jumping for the EvA60 and 95 classes and cross country on Saturday afternoon for the 160 EvA80 competitors. All other competitors head out on cross country on Sunday, with the CCI4* wrapping up the day after their show jumping in the morning.
Can popular Quirindi Eventing CCN4* winners, Heath Ryan and Bronze Boy R, do it again here at Equestriad? Or will Melbourne CCI4*-L winners Olivia Barton and Hollyander HG come out on top? Oliver Barrett and Sandhills Special, who were neck and neck with Olivia at Melbourne until the final horse inspection caused some grief, will no doubt be keen to get out there again and Cathryn Herbert’s black stallion Wimborne Constable is another hot contender.
We’ll be filming all combinations on cross country and bringing you daily updates and full wrap up next week.
