Chris Webb leaves Equestrian Australia

Chris Webb’s ten-year tenure as High Performance Director for Equestrian Australia has come to an end following the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Under Chris’ leadership, the High Performance Program achieved success over multiple cycles, guiding the team from the Rio 2016 Olympics through to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. During his decade of service, the program delivered four Olympic medals: a team Bronze in Rio, a team Silver and an individual Bronze in Tokyo, and an individual Silver at Paris

As well as the usual demands of sporting organisations, Chris faced some unusual challenges during his time, with Equestrian Australia going into voluntary administration and oversight of the High Performance Programme transferred to the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) for nearly two years.

Will Enzinger, an eventing athlete and coach in his own right, was appointed to the role of High Performance Director for Equestrian Australia in March 2023 with Chris acting in an advisory capacity and most recently, in his last role for Equestrian Australia, Chris was the High Performance Advisor for Paris 2024.

Equestrian Australia is also on the hunt for a new CEO ‘to lead Equestrian Australia into an exciting new phase’ saying that “The CEO will be at the forefront of delivering EA’s Nationally Aligned Strategy and implementing the proposed Discipline Model Restructure”
