British Eventing held their Annual General Meeting on 11th December and has published the notes and presentations from the meeting which make interesting reading.
The meeting was opened by Amanda Ratliffe, BE Chairman who outlined the main milestones and achievements which included;
- A strong balance sheet
- An increase in membership
- New website being developed
- BE is in the early stages of building a Charitable Foundation. This will offer opportunities for people to get involved in the sport that would not otherwise be able to do so and will become a very beneficial arm for BE in the future
Mike Etherington-Smith reviewed 2013 and looked forward to 2014 and then handed over to Wendy McGowan, BE’s Finance Director who outlined the financial results for 2013 compared to previous years and explained the financial support BE offers to events.
Despite the challenges facing the sport, British Eventing seem to have had a good year with number of events, days of cross country and participants all increasing in 2013
