Fraser and Nadal KSNZ at Puhinui
We jokingly say that Australia’s Chris Burton looks as if he rides for the Netherlands with his orange trimmed gear but Fraser King, New Zealand’s current National One Day CIC3* champion, has gone one better by actually opting to ride for the Dutch
The ‘galloping barrister’ Fraser, who plans to be based in Europe for the foreseeable future with his horse Nadal KSNZ, managed the swap through his Dutch mother
“The Dutch have access to some of the best riders and trainers in the world that I hope to learn a lot from” he says
“Also, the Dutch eventing team have been very accommodating, arranging for me to stay in a great yard in Holland and setting clear results-based performance criteria to enter their elite eventing squad.”
Fraser and Nadal, who were runners-up in the CCI3* at Puhinui International Horse Trials last year, will be competing at their first CCI4* this week in Luhmuhlen – good luck Fraser and we’ll be keeping an eye out for you, whoever you ride for!
