The proud father of Mark and two other children will be farewelled at a funeral on Monday at St Andrew’s Church in Cambridge
Sir Mark, who is being knighted by the Queen in an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Friday will fly home to attend the funeral.
When advised of his knighthood, Sir Mark admitted that he was sad his mother Lenore, who died in September last year, was not alive to share the news, but his father Norman – when sworn to secrecy – had tagged it as “bigger than a gold medal”.
