Blenheim International Horse Trials will be even more jam packed with eventing action this year with the addition of the recently launched Event Rider Masters CIC3* series (ERM). This exciting initiative is aimed at the world’s very best riders and will culminate in the final at Blenheim in September
This will be an additional CIC3* competition which will run alongside the existing showcase CCI3* and the 8 & 9 year old horse CIC3* classes. The event’s provisional timetable detailed below outlines how this additional class will fit in to the existing schedule
The ERM CIC3* will run over just two days with its Dressage in the main Marlborough Arena on Saturday 10th (whilst the CCI3* Cross Country is running). ERM CIC3* competitors will Show Jump in the morning on Sunday 11th and go Cross Country on Sunday afternoon.
The CCI3* will run as it always has with Dressage in the main Marlborough Arena on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th, Cross Country on Saturday 10th and Show Jumping Sunday 11th. There are some interesting changes to the Cross Country course. It will not go through the Marlborough Arena but instead we have introduced some new loops as well as some exciting new fences and challenges for the competitors.
The 8 & 9 year old horse CIC3* is unchanged in format with Dressage in the Churchill Arena Thursday 8th and Friday 9th, Show Jumping in the Marlborough Arena on Saturday afternoon followed by Cross Country on Sunday morning. The Sunday Cross country will start earlier to accommodate the ERM CIC3* Cross Country action on Sunday afternoon.
