Jan Kaminski (POL) rides Jard on cross country in the CCIO4*-L FEI Olympic Eventing Qualifier for Paris 2024
Poland is just a squeak away from qualifying an eventing team for Paris 2024 in the FEI Olympic Qualification Event for Group C at Baborowko Equestrian Festival (POL)
Maintaining their lead after dressage, Poland holds first place both as a team and individually with Jan Kamiński riding Jard, (32.6 penalties) leading the class ahead of his team-mates Wiktoria Knap riding Quintus 134 in second place (33.5), Malgorzata Korycka riding Canvalencia (35.6) in fourth place and Paweł Warszawski and Lucinda Ex Ani 4 in sixth (46.1)
Poland is now the only team competing with the Hungarian team having only one individual left competing losing after two of its members when Balázs Kaizinger retired on course and Noémi Doerfer was eliminated.

"I think if I had ridden a bit more riskily I would have been in time without a problem, but I knew I had to make it to the end for the country. (...) I heard about the fall. On the one hand, of course, joy, on the other hand, all athletes - no matter which country they are from - are stressed because we know that it can happen to us as well” says Polish team member, Jan Kaminski
The final phase of show jumping following the second horse inspection on Sunday will determine if Poland gains Olympic qualification.
Christophe Wahler (GER) and Carjatan S on cross country in the CCI4*-S
In the CCI4*-S, Germany’s Christoph Wahler has moved into first place with Carjatan S, adding nothing to his dressage score of 27.9.
He is closely followed by Switzerland’s Robin Godel riding Grandeur De Lully CH (30.2) and Michael Jung riding Kilcandra Ocean Power in third place (31.8) who are heading to Luhmuhlen for the CCI4* in June. Dressage leader, Germany’s Jerome Robine has dropped to fourth place riding Black Ice, one of just four German entries for the 5* at Luhmuhlen
"I really enjoy being here. I've been here twice before and decided to come again. This is my last preparation before the CCI5*, and this is the perfect place - great cross, very technical” says Jerome.
