Ian Stark, Willa Newton, Alex Hua Tian and Vittoria Panizzon are among the riders heading to Northumberland this weekend to compete in the CCI3*-S at Alnwick Ford International
Ian Stark will be riding the Duchess of Devonshire’s grey gelding, Chatsworth Diamond who won the Open Novice at Burgham International last year, and Willa Newton will be competing another two lovely greys, Cock A Doodle Doo, who is coming off an Open Intermediate win at Little Downham (1) in June on a cracking score of 20.4, in the CCI3* and Rebellious. Willa also has Light The Fuse, who won the Novice at Richmond (1) in May on another great score of 22.8, in the CCI2*-S.
Alexandra Farrar-Fry and Grey Finnsky took their first ever international win at Belsay International recently in the CCI2*-S and are moving up to the CCI3* at Alnwick Ford
Italy’s Vittoria Panizzon is riding Gebaliaretto, the CCI2* winner at Chatsworth in 2019 and China’s Alex Hua Tian is riding Hamlet, another winner at Richmond (1) in May
The venue at Alnwick Ford Farm, Morpeth in Northumberland has a new arena for the international show jumping and all show jumping is on grass while the cross country courses designed by David Evans will see the start moved to the other side of the valley and there will be ‘subtle differences’ between the Intermediate/Novice tracks and the FEI CCI 3*-S/CCI 2*-S tracks
The International classes kick off with dressage on Friday followed by show jumping and cross country on Saturday. The event is also running BE90, BE100 and Intermediate levels
