Jonty Evans and Cooley Rorkes Drift on their way to a win at Belton International 2018
The London Capital & Finance Osberton Horse Trials isn’t just going to be competitive on course – the evening entertainment is hotting up with the two teams having been announced for the 2018 Equestrian of Sport and the dinner guests no doubt likely to join in!
80 guests will enjoy a 2-course meal and be cheering on the two teams – Team GB against the The Rest of World - as the eventing wits battle it out on Friday evening, answering equestrian based quiz questions including a 60 second round, picture board and charades
Captaining Team GB this year is international event rider Matt Heath. Matt will be joined by 4* rider Ginny Howe and the Junior & Young Rider European gold medalist Harry Dzenis. Squaring up against Team GB will be The Rest of World team headed up by Irish Olympian Austin O’Connor; he will be aided and abetted by New Zealand’s Lucy Jackson and, hot from his success at the FEI World Equestrian Games (and hopefully with his silver medal around his neck) Padraig McCarthy.
Previous stars of Equestrian of Sport include Harry Meade, Gemma Tattersall and last year’s winning captain, Jonty Evans. Proceeds from this year’s Equestrian of Sport competition will be in aid of Jonty’s rehabilitation as he continues his recovery from a serious head injury
“Jonty is a great supporter of BEDE Events and we want to support in any way we can with his recovery. We saw him fly to victory in the Lycetts Grantham Cup at Belton 2018 and we want to see him back out there as soon as possible” says Stuart Buntine, Director of BEDE Events
A package is available which includes front row seats to the Equestrian of Sport and dinner after the Quiz for £35 per head. Tickets for Friday evening entertainment, which has kindly been supported by Investec, will be strictly limited so please ensure that you book in advance by calling BEDE Events on 01949 829061 ext. 4 or as soon as you arrive on site at Osberton
