Introductory winners have their say at Tamworth

The aim of any eventer is to finish the three phases on your dressage score. Added on to that is the hope that you lead the dressage phase – simple really!

Well it looked pretty easy for certainly two of the three riders that John Lechner caught up with at the Tamworth event last weekend.

Tracey Boyle (above)  rode her Clydesdale x Quarter horse in the Quirindi EvA80 class and led from start to finish and pulled off the ultimate goal of staying on her dressage score, which in this case was 40.9. Although John had his work cut out getting more than a few words from the seemingly shy Tracey we hope she was proud of her efforts.

Our next two audio clips come from two riders in the other introductory section – the Equitak EvA80.

Like Tracey, junior rider Lucy Herbet (above) and her horse Black Pepper led the class from the dressage phase on a score of 53.9 and remained on that score to win the class ahead of 18 other riders.

Emma Bickley and Chicken Run (above) remained in their dressage spot of third, despite adding 3.2 time penalties from cross country (for going too fast). A clear show jumping round saw the pair finish on a score of 60.5
