Australia's Chris Burton had a smooth ride on both of horses at Tattersalls yesterday to maintain his lead in the CCI 1* and CCI 2*on Graf Liberty and Underdiscussion.
The top ten in each class seemed to find the course to their liking with almost all competitors clear and under time around the Ian Stark courses. Oliver Townend is snapping at Chris’ heels in the Land Rover CCI 1* and is in 4th and 5th places in the CCI 1* but it is New Zealander Tim Price who is chasing Chris in the Eventing Ireland CCI2* riding Wesko. With less than one rail between them, the pressure will be on in the showjumping.

Also in the CCI 2* are Australians Matt Ryan on Bonza Moorabinda and Bonza Rusty May in 27th and 44th places respectively and Brook Staples riding Dawn Melody is in 34th . Brook retired on course in the CCI 3* on Ever So Clever
In the CCI 3* William Fox-Pitt has taken the lead on Bay My Hero, the horse on which he won the 2010 CCI 1* and the 2011 CCI 2* here at Tattersalls – no doubt he would like to continue the run and win the CCI 3* here this year! Dressage leader Ruth Edge went clear jumping but picked up time faults to drop her down to fifth place and fellow Brit Polly Stockton has moved up to second on Westwood Mariner.
