The double gold European Eventing Champion and double CCI5* winner in 2023, Ros Canter has just celebrated her birthday on 13th January 2024.

Here’s some other little snippets about Ros you may not know (including one that leads us to think that Ros probably cooked her own birthday cake!)

Eventing World Number One

After winning Badminton Horse Trials in 2023 on Lordships Graffalo, Ros became the World Number One for the second time in her career. The first time was in April 2019, although she wasn’t competing at the time as she was awaiting the birth of her daughter Ziggy.

Sporting Prowess

Before turning her focus to becoming a professional eventing rider, Ros was competitive in various other sports, including running, hockey and tennis and she gained a degree in Sports Science at Sheffield Hallam University,

Small but mighty

Ros is one of the smaller riders on the circuit, measuring just 5’ 2”.

Olympic Team Member

Ros has been to an Olympic Games as part of a British team, as the last-minute travelling reserve with Allstar B at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. They didn’t get to compete but there’s no doubt that Ros is a hot favourite for the British team at Paris 2024

Record books

Only three female riders have won Badminton and a World Championship. 2018 World Champion Ros entered the history books (joining Lucinda Green and Ginny Elliott) in 2023 after her win at Badminton.

Bake-off Champ

While it has been a long-standing tradition at Ros’ yard for someone to bring cake following a fall, we got to see Ros’ cake baking skills first hand during when Covid when she produced a fabulous rainbow cake.
