If it was Susie Berry’s Saturday at Riseholm College Lincoln Horse Trials, then it was definitely Laura Collett’s Sunday with the Paris 2024 Olympic gold and bronze medallist claiming both Open Intermediate classes. Laura and her Paris horse London 52 romped to a win in the Open Intermediate Section S on their dressage score of 20.2 ahead of Storm Straker riding Fever Pitch (25.9) and Susie Berry on Ringwood LB (31.3), while Laura’s Dacapo took fifth place.

Laura also took both first and second places in the Open Intermediate Section T with Drumgiven Mr Charisma, a new ride for Laura this year previously competed by Jeanette Brakewell who took a win here on Friday, and the mare Bling, who both skipped around cross country with just 0.4 time penalties. Emily King and Jackpot rounded out the top three in this section.

Imogen King, Heidi Coy and Ros Canter were all recent winners at Oasby (1) Horse Trials and took home top placings here too. Imogen won the Intermediate Section U on board Camaro, Heidi took the Intermediate Novice Section P riding Inquisitor and Ros Canter’s Graffito and Broadstone Lion Man took first and second places in the Novice Section Q.

Ellie Healy riding Balladeer Just For Kicks, winners of the Open Novice Section R, rounded out the three days of winners at Lincoln Showgrounds where, despite the cold, the sun shone and the ground was perfect!

An Eventful Life filmed all competitors on cross country all three days and we’ll be back with a full report, lots of photos and riders’ thoughts soon.
