Germany’s stars of the future have been doing well in the UK recently with Emma Brüssau winning at Floors Castle, and Julia Krajewski and Christoph Wahler doing a one-two at Chatsworth but it was a real top gun that took the lead in the CICO4*-S at the Saracen Horse Feeds Houghton International today.
The legendary Ingrid Klimke, spearheading the German Nations Cup team, leads the individual rankings in the CICO4* riding her 2018 Le Lion World Young Horse Champion, Asha P
Thanks to their score of 23.2, 1.6 points ahead of her team mate and yesterday's leader Christoph Wahler, Germany leads after three of their riders have completed the dressage. Due to huge entries this year, another 22 four-star combinations still have their tests to do tomorrow, starting at 8.30am, before all show jump and then horses run across Alec Lochore’s new cross country course on Sunday.

The Dutch only have a team of three, their current score after two riders is 66.2.
Jesse Campbell and Diachello II
In the individual rankings New Zealander Jesse Campbell has moved in to third place with Diachello II on a score of 28.0, dropping Swiss rider Robin Godel down a place to 4th. The best of the British riders is still Tom McEwen, 6th on No Excuse.

Three Star
Norfolk-born Piggy French leads the three-star by the narrowest of margins – the same as her winning margin at Badminton earlier this month. Calling Card posted a score of 26.3, dropping last night's leader Holly Woodhead down a place with Scuderia 1918 Future on a score of 26.4.
The first three-star competitor, Harry Meade riding Mosstown Prince, who are currently in ninth place set out across country at 15.27 tomorrow.
Three Star Young Rider British National Championship
Bubby Upton and Eros DHI
The Saracen Horse Feeds sponsored British Eventing National Championship got underway today, and it was the final horse before the judges who took the lead. Bubby Upton from Suffolk swept to the top of the table riding Eros DHI, who scored 28.6. Bubby also lies in third place on last year's Houghton runner up Cola III with her rides separated by long time leader Phoebe Lock on Union Fortunus.
The Young Riders go cross country tomorrow from 13:45.
Two Star
The top of the two-star leader board has a new entry in the top three at the end of the dressage phase. Piggy French and First Lancer have held their advantage, ahead of Belgium’s Stephanie D'Andrimont riding Casperelli, a horse previously competed by Australia’s Kevin McNab, on a score of 26.3 while Willa Newton is now third riding Cock A Doodle Doo

It is the two-star competitors who will get tomorrow's cross country action started. Jerome Robine and Brave Heart 10 for Germany will be counted down in the start box at 9am.
