The eventing year is just flying by and things are happening at speed in the UK – as long as you have fuel!
Last weekend saw Kelsall Hill (2) and South of England (2) taking place and there is a big week coming up with Osberton International incorporating the Young Horse Championships and Little Downham (4) but, in between all of that, there is Little Downham (3) International tucked into the week
Taking place on one day only, Tuesday 28th September, the Childeric Saddles Little Downham (3) International sees some newly gold medalled riders hot footing it back from Switzerland – what a year the Brits are having – for the CCI4*-S classes
The entry lists for the two sections of CCI4*-S see combinations such as Europeans team gold medallist Ros Canter riding Dassett Cooley Dun (Ros is also riding Shannondale Nadia in the Advanced), Bubby Upton – who has bounced back amazingly from a broken back - with two of her fabulous horses, Cola III and Cannavaro, Izzy Taylor with Ringwood Madras and Fonbherna Lancer, Susie Berry – also very much on form after Blenheim – with Ringwood LB and Blair CCI4*-L winners, Rosie Fry and True Blue Too II
Ginny Thompson is the only Antipodean competing in the 4* with Gladstone II but Tim Price has Xavier Faer and Spartaco in the Advanced, Caroline Powell is riding Up, Up and Away, Lucy Jackson is riding Calcourt Quantum and Jonelle Price brings McClaren for a rev up.
Olympic dual medallist Tom McEwen is also in the Advanced with CHF Cooliser. Tom had a great run in the CCI3*-L class at Childeric Saddles Little Downham (X) earlier in the year, finishing first, second and fourth
We’ll see you there - don't forget to stay tuned to our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for video snippets and more during the weekend
