An Eventful Life will be filming all competitors on cross country at
Keysoe (3) 2020 - find out more here
In a topsy turvy year, Keysoe finally gets a British Eventing run in August at the ever-popular Keysoe (3) this week
The event, which takes place at the College Equestrian Centre in Bedfordshire, missed out on running Keysoe (1) in May and what was to be their first ever International level eventing competition, to complement the International dressage and show jumping events that are run here, in June. But it isn’t all bad news on that front for Simon Bates and his team, who have secured an additional fixture in the British Eventing calendar with Keysoe International (4) on 26th & 27th September when they will run just CCI2*-S and CCI3*-S classes
But first it’s time for Keysoe (3) from 28th – 30th August when Keysoe will run classes from BE80(T) up to Open Intermediate. And if anyone needs some inspiration for the Intermediate cross country, there is nothing better than watching Pippa Funnell’s masterclass from last year as she won the Intermediate Section E on Billy Wonder (above).
It was a good event for Pippa, who received a last-minute call-up to the British European Championship team during the weekend and went on to have a very successful second half of the season, including her win at Burghley a few weeks later
The Intermediate classes will run on Friday this year along with one section of BE100 Open, Saturday will see more BE100 and Novice level, including the hotly contested Open Novice U18 while Sunday wraps up with the BE80 and BE90 combinations
We’ll see you there – don’t forget to smile at the camera and have a great ride - and we'll leave you with last year's winner of the Open Novice U18, Lily Ryder and SRS Everest
