There have been a few changes to the original line-up for the Longines Luhmuhlen Horse Trials with some notable names having withdrawn, but there are still plenty of fabulous combinations to get us all excited.
Laura Collett, with both London 52 and Dacapo, headlines the British contingent, which has seen the withdrawal of Sarah Bullimore, Kirsty Chabert and Pippa Funnell’s Billy Walk On among others.
However Pippa will be competing with Burghley winner, MGH Grafton Street while Kitty King on Vendredi Biats, World Champion Yasmin Ingham on Rehy DJ, Tom Jackson on Farndon and Oliver Townend on Swallow Springs, Cooley Rosalent and Tregilder are still all in the mix.
Australia’s Kevin McNab has withdrawn from the CCI5* and sadly Sam Lyle’s overseas campaign has come to end with BF Valour picking up an injury and withdrawing from the CCI4* here. But Kevin is still listed for the CCI4* on Willunga and Bill Levett will be competing Huberthus AC in the 5*
New Zealand now has just two combinations in the CCI5* with World Number One Tim Price riding 2022 Boekelo winner Happy Boy at his first 5* and Muzi Pottinger riding Just Kidding, who is new to Luhmuhlen but has completed Badminton.
The USA has 10 combinations across the board including Boyd Martin, who will be a busy boy, riding Fedarman B, Luke 150 and Tsetserleg TSF in the 5* while the home nation has lost one of its star turns with the withdrawal of both Michael Jung’s fischerChipmunk and Kilcandra Ocean Power from the CCI4*-S German National Championship.
While there may be no Michael Jung, we do have Julia Krajewski on Nickel and the talented stallion Ero de Cantraie and Ingrid Klimke on Equistros Sienna Just Do It, all in the CCI4*
Switzerland’s Felic Vogg and Colero return as defending champions and we’ll be bringing you daily updates, photos and snippets throughout the event!
