An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at
Osberton International & Young Horse Championships 2022
Well known for being a launch pad for ‘Tomorrows Champions’ an amazing 68% of the finishing field at this year’s Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials were graduates of the annual Osberton International and British Young Horse Championships
This year’s event, taking place from Wednesday 28th September to Sunday 2nd October at the Osberton Estate in Nottinghamshire, will see the same high calibre of horses and riders across the classes and there is plenty more on offer to keep you entertained during several days of top-class competition
The British Young Horse Championships sponsored by The Howden Way will be contested at 5-Year-Old, Six-Year-Old (CCISYH2*) and Seven-Year-Old (CCISYH3*) levels from Wednesday to Saturday while the Four-Year-Old Showcase, sponsored by Springfield Stud takes place on Thursday, September 29th
The CCI2*-L and CCI3*-L classes run from Wednesday to Sunday with cross country on Saturday and the show jumping finale on Sunday
Many of the country’s leading riders are entered with World Number One Oliver Townend heading the entries with six horses across the classes. Keep an eye out for him in the CCI3*-L on Caunton First Class, who has not been out of the top three at all their 3* starts this year and Finley Du Loir, winner of the British Novice Championship at this year’s Festival of British Eventing, in the CCI2*-L
World Number Two Piggy March has one to watch in the CCI3*-L with Brookfield Future News, winner of Chatsworth CCI2* and look out for Ros Canter riding in the Six-Year-Old Championship on Silvesters Finesse, who has won four of his six starts this year
Last year's winner of the CCI3*-L on board the horse now known as Halo and ridden by Piggy March with great success, Kevin McNab has several entries across the classes and he is joined by fellow Australians Bella English and Bill Levett with Bella’s Cil Dara Dallas, who had success at Le Lion last year, in the Seven-Year-Old Championship
Alongside these great riders, you can see some of the Country's best Carriage Drivers in action, future Eventing Champions, with many pony clubs challenging for the fiercely fought Animalintex Pony Club Games, and very competitive Tigga's Saddlery Pony Club Showjumping. You will have a chance to get up close and personal with the amazing Shire Horses that will be parading in the main arena on Saturday and Sunday
A craft marquee, great food choices and the British Polo Gin bar will keep everyone entertained and provide a fantastic day out. You could even make a weekend of it, with camping and picnic parking available as well as day tickets - find out more here
We’ll see you at Osberton!
